Description

This Few Word Technique Resource Sheet is an aid for students and teachers to discuss how to provide more detail into their analysis responses. There are more detailed vocabulary lists provided in the Melody, Rhythm and Harmony chapters of Music Analysis: Listening Beyond Hearing.

There are three parts to this resource:

1. A Student Sheet (PDF) with blank sections for written responses
2. A Teacher Sheet (PDF) which has sample responses
3. The password file (TXT) for opening the above PDFs

To gain the most from this resource:

1. Print out the Student Resource Sheet.
2. Read through in detail the information on pages one and two with a highlighter and pen.
3. Underline and define any unfamiliar terminology and write these in your Glossary located at the back of the “Listening Beyond Hearing” text.
4. Create flash cards to aid in learning unfamiliar concepts.
5. Complete the tempo activities on your own (or as a class if working with a teacher or in a small group).
6. Look at the suggested answers provided on the Teacher Resource Sheet and note any areas where further study is required.
